What does VCI (Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor) mean anyway? Generally understood, it is a volatile corrosion inhibitor. VCI is used as a temporary corrosion inhibitor for metallic materials.

In the vapor phase or condensation, the evaporating substance acts on the material.

The VCI substances deposit their effect on the metal surface, from where they are absorbed and form a protective layer. After unpacking the goods, the inhibitor evaporates without leaving any residues. This method is a great advantage compared to oils, which can be used as a protective layer, which must be removed again with great effort.

Advantages of the VCI method:

– Since the gas of the VCI paper also penetrates holes and cavities, these areas are protected as well.

– The wrapping does not need to be sealed

– At the end of transport or storage, the wrapping does not need to be cleaned and is immediately available.

VCI paper can be supplied to any desired size. Whether in rolls or cut to size.
